Solidarity
in the Building Trades

RAT IN THE HOUSE

After the United Brotherhood of Carpenters attempted to raid the work of other Building Trades unions in May 2007, the Columbia-Pacific Building Trades Council took action against the carpenters and their picket lines to send a strong message of unity while also creating “Building Trades Solidarity Day.”

This show of solidarity should be a blueprint for all other Building and Construction Trades Councils across the country to stop the predatory attacks of renegade crafts.
IUPAT Solidarity Lives!
Carpenters in Southern California try to disrupt drywall-finishers contract ratification so they can raid their work, but multiple other trades turn out to support the IUPAT.
The UBC Raiders
IUPAT members stand strong in District Council 81 (Iowa/Nebraska) and across the nation against underhanded attempts by the Carpenters to raid membership, putting to rest any doubt about IUPAT resolve.
The Unity Resolution
IUPAT and the Sheet Metal Workers International Association pass their “Unity Resolution” with other trades to respect each others’ jurisdictions – a strong response to the Carpenters’ attacks on the IUPAT and other unions.

UBC Raiders: West Virginia

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters recently made an attempt to raid the IUPAT drywall jurisdiction in West Virginia.  Once again, like in so many other parts of the U.S. and Canada, they were unsuccessful.

Failure is Not an Option

However, all of our efforts depend upon what kind of worker you decide to be on the job site. This video explains exactly what “The Top Workplace Performance Plan” is, what it means and why it is so important.
