Weston, WV — The West Virginia International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council 53 hosted the 2014 COATING AND CORROSION EXPO on February 19, 2014 at the IUPAT Training Center in Weston.

Exhibitors were on hand to answer questions and displayed the latest products and training.  The event also featured live demonstrations of surface preparation and application with “hands on” presentations of the virtual reality sandblasting and spray painting booths.  Attendees include representatives from Carboline, Blast One, Sherwin Williams, PPG and Norton Sandblasting Equipment, among others.

“Industry and political leaders in West Virginia have been forced to take a long hard look at the effects of corrosion on our facilities, and the health dangers it poses,” said Brian Stanley, a representative of IUPAT DC 53.  “This expo will take those who will work on preventing future disasters, such as our recent spill, one step closer to developing effective solutions.”
