The meeting is part of a month-long series of roundtables around the country to advance apprenticeships as “job-driven strategy to connect ready-to-work Americans with ready-to-be-filled jobs.” ¬†These roundtables were a part of President Obama’s announcement in April that his administration is investing $100 million in American Apprenticeship Grants to “create partnerships among companies and others to increase apprenticeship in growing industries, align apprenticeships to pathways for further learning and career development, and scale-up apprenticeship programs that work.”

The next roundtable is scheduled for June 17, 2014 in Houston.
