State Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Madison, put his membership in the Union of Painters and Allied Trades front-and-center of his speech, joking that Washington could use a little “union thug.”

“Forty-seven percent of Congress are millionaires,” he said. “There are only five members of Congress who are union members.”
