ICC Code Hearings Wraps up With Decisions on Fenestration Assembly, Vertical Glass and Glass in Walkways

The International Code Council (ICC) reviewed several proposed changes to the International Building Code (IBC) related to exterior window and door assemblies, vertical glass and glass in walkways during its code development hearings held last week and through the weekend in Dallas. Among those approved were proposals related to allowable stress design in the exterior window and door assemblies section; coordinating glass design load equations in the vertical glass section; and load requirements in glass in walkways, elevator hoist ways and elevator cars section.
