Developed by FCA through its Safety Advisory Committee, the CREST Awards provide international recognition to finishing contractors who recognize the value of safety and have programs in place to keep their workers safe. After a strong first year in terms of entrants, there was a 20 percent increase in contractors who applied for the CREST Awards in just its second year.

“The CREST Awards were created to encourage and recognize excellence in safety and to honor contractors, with international recognition, who have lead an effective safety program throughout the previous year,” explained Randy Bender, Chairman of FCA’s Safety Advisory Committee.

The winners were announced and awards were handed out during the Awards Banquet at FCA’s 2012 Annual Leadership Council in Honolulu, Hawaii. Winners walked away with a bronze-cast-iron plaque which will forever broadcast to the world that their company is a safety conscious one.

“When we told our guys, they were really excited about winning an international award for their hard work,” said Terry Osburn, manager at William B. Saleh Company.

Finishing contractors running effective safety programs can register for the 2012 CREST Awards beginning on January 1, 2013.
