Anton Ruesing is the Director of the International Finishing Trades Institute (IFTI). He is a Certified Protective Coatings Specialist (PCS), NACE Level 3 Certified Inspector, NACE Nuclear Coatings Inspector, SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector, Concrete Coatings Inspector; he is also C7, C12, and C14 Certified. He is an IUPAT, NACE, and SSPC Instructor as well as a proctor for the CAS. Anton serves on several industry committees including ASTM D01, ASTM D33, NACE TG320, NACE Curriculum, SSPC Education Committee. He is also the Lead SME for the NACE ICA program that will be released in 2016.
After proudly serving in the USMC Anton began his apprenticeship in his hometown of St. Louis under Tim Klotz, and worked for Ackerman Painting, while earning his Computer Science Degree (with a Management of Information Systems Minor). He has been in the industry over 19 years; he spent 6 years as the Director of the Florida Finishing Trades Institute and 2 years as the Industrial Coatings Program Manager for the FTI International, before stepping up to his current position as Director. Throughout all of his travels always keeping his obligations and striving every day to be a better man, he is most proud of his accomplishments of being a good father and role model to his two children, Isabella and Peter, and a good husband to his wife Christy. His professional goal is to see the bar raised, within the industry by educating all industry stakeholders, and focusing on professionalism and quality. He believes the IUPAT can lead the way and have a positive impact on the industry and all of those individuals who participate in it.
