On September 16, 2017, District Council 11 celebrated the grand opening of the Finishing Trades Institute of Southern New England’s new training facility. Hundreds of members and their families gathered to witness the ribbon cutting, enjoy fine cuisine, and tour the new facility. Special guests included IUPAT General President Kenneth Rigmaiden, General Vice President William Candelori, Jr., General President Emeritus Jim Williams, Sr., and many local dignitaries.
Construction and renovation of the training facility was completed in less than two years. DC 11 and the men and women of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades acknowledge and applaud the workers who contributed their time and skills to this project. This state-of-the-art training facility wouldn’t exist without their diligence and efficiency.
