District Council 3 – Members Gather Signatures to Repeal Right-to-Work in Missouri

As many of us know, Right-to-Work is one of those carefully crafted slogans used to sell a bag of goods. It is known to union workers as, “Right to Work for Less,” “Right to Work without Benefits,” and
Right to Work without Representation.

In August 2017, members of District Council 3, along with thousands of other labor members from around the state of Missouri, held a rally at the Missouri State Capitol building to block the right-to-work vote. DC 3 Director of Government Affairs, Jessica Podhola was tasked with serving as the regional petition director for the We Are Missouri campaign.

Members of IUPAT DC 3 and other Missouri labor members gathered outside the Missouri State Capitol building in August to protest the state’s right-to-work law. Total of 310,567 signatures were collected to repeal the law.

DC 3 is proud of the work its members put into this campaign, especially the countless hours spent collecting 310,567 signatures to repeal the law. Learn more about anti-worker, pay deception bills at www.wearemissouri.org.
