District Council 50 – Retirement of Filipo Maiava

On February 2, 2018, District Council 50 member Filipo Maiava retired from the IUPAT. Brother Maiava served as an instructor for the painters apprenticeship program for over twenty years! During his time as an instructor, he taught apprentices every Saturday at Honolulu Community College. Brother Maiava would also travel to the neighboring islands for apprenticeship training.

In honor of his retirement, FTI Director Anton Ruesing and FTI Apprenticeship and Training Representative Ken Seal presented Brother Maiava with an IUPAT watch.

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades thanks Brother Filipo Maiava for his years of service to our union. We wish you nothing but the best and hope you enjoy your retirement.
