Many people attended DC 711’s New Jersey Protective Coatings and Corrosion Expo on September 15.

On September 15, 2016, District Council 711 hosted the New Jersey Protective Coatings and Corrosion Expo at its headquarters. The expo drew a large crowd of attendees including representatives from townships, engineering firms, municipal utility authorities, politicians and manufacturers. During the expo, attendees were offered seminars in protective coatings and a Certified Application Specialist program overview. Various speakers and presenters discussed the state of our infrastructure, the need to invest in infrastructure maintenance and the importance of performing that maintenance correctly. Attendees also toured the council’s training center and had the opportunity to witness some blasting and spraying in person. DC 711 received plenty of positive feedback from everyone in attendance and thanks everyone for making the expo a success.

Expos such as this one are taking place at IUPAT district councils throughout the country.  We are holding these events to show those who create standards, develop new technology and even bid on industrial jobs that our workforce is the most highly trained workforce in this craft.
