District Council 77 Seizes Opportunity to Bring PAT-VP to Fort Bragg

On November 2, 2017, District Council 77 Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer Charles Hill, Women Veteran Program Manager for Helmets to Hardhats Lisa Ford, and Fort Bragg Transition Services Manager (TSM) William McMillian met to discuss implementing the Painters and Allied Trades Veterans Program (PAT-VP) at Fort Bragg.

As TSM, McMillian’s oversees the veterans’ transition back into society, and part of that responsibility includes job placement and training. Hill and Ford proposed having presentations for the transitioning vets so they could directly engage with them and provide vital information on the various careers the IUPAT has to offer. As a result of their meeting, McMillian is now open to the idea of incorporating a PAT-VP program at Fort Bragg with an onsite IUPAT training program.
