District Council 9 Partners with Local Non-Profit to Transform Park Subway Station

This summer, District Council 9 members volunteered with Publicolor to help transform the Morris Park Subway Station in The Bronx into a bright and inspiring place as a part of Publicolor’s Summer Program. Publicolor is a nonprofit stay-in-school youth development program that engages high-risk students in their education through a continuum of design-based programs that mentor them for success in college, career, and life. Through partnerships such as this, DC 9 can engage its members to work directly with nonprofits and members of their community to create meaningful change that benefits all. When we serve those who have served us, we build our reputation as a key community partner, which benefits us at the bargaining table later on.  We’re proud to be able to lend a hand to those in need in this unique way.
