nwLaborPress.org, the preeminent labor website reporting on union news in the Northwest, reports that International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) members of District Council 5/Local Union 10 in Portland, Oregon, helped an elderly couple who were duped by an unscrupulous painting contractor for thousands of dollars when they hired him to paint their house.
When the IUPAT members learned that the contractor went into hiding instead of painting the couple’s home, they put their apprentices to work.
