IUPAT District Council 6 – Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania
District Council 6 recently helped restore the Rotary Club Pavilion in Lima, Ohio, as part of its Community Organizing for Real Economics (CORE) initiative. Under the supervision of John Snell of District Council 6, apprentices from Local Unions 7 (Toledo, Ohio) and 1020 (Lima, Ohio) removed rubbish from the site and pressure washed the pavilion prior to applying a fresh coat of paint. After the project was finished, Lima Mayor David Berger came to the site and personally thanked the volunteers for their time and efforts in helping to preserve a structural landmark of the city.

CORE is an ongoing IUPAT program in all district councils to grow our union through building partnerships in our communities, and by volunteering to work on local projects such as the restoration of this pavilion in Ohio. Contact your district council for more information on CORE if you would like to be a part of our community outreach via CORE.
