It’s Official: Hillary Clinton is Our Nominee for President

Statement by

General President
International Union of Painters and Allied Trades

The men and women of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades applaud the nomination of Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate for President of the United States.

endorseWe now have two choices in this presidential election, and Hillary Clinton is the only candidate is for working families.  She has always helped create good jobs for the members of the IUPAT through infrastructure investment, and the advancement of apprenticeship training to make a career in the building trades a good life for all.  Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine have made a career of ensuring that good health care, solid retirement security and expanding opportunities for an affordable education for our children are a right for working families, not a privilege.

Last night, our candidate, Hillary Clinton, rightly said we are “stronger together.” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka reminded the union members at this convention that the “script of the labor movement is solidarity.” Clearly, Hillary Clinton, the IUPAT and the rest of the organized labor movement share the same vision, priorities and drive for working families.  The members of the IUPAT are ready to get to work to put Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine in the White House.
