Students from the Loring Job Corps Center near Limestone, Maine, recently answered the call to assist the Fort Fairfield Elementary School library. Years of overuse had created rough edges and splinters on the library’s oak chairs, making them a hazard to the school’s young students. The Loring crew transported over 30 chairs from the library to their shop, where they sanded and resealed them.
The Loring JCC is very proud of the finished work. Their efforts saved this small community school library multiple hours of work to refinish the chairs themselves, and will allow the students to continue to learn in a safe environment for years to come.
