MIAMI JCC PAINTING STUDENTS HONOR THE LEGACY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Miami Job Corps Center painting students participated in a MIami Gardens, Florida Day of Service project to refurbish the exterior of an elderly resident’s home. “This was a great opportunity to improve the homes of senior citizens in our community.  It’s also a great way for our students to give back to the community they live in,” said Miami Job Corps Painting Instructor Charles Garcia. Garcia went on to say that “this will improve the students’ employability by learning how to refurbish and prep an old home. They also learned about leadership, teamwork and other skill sets to help build their career.  Preparation and painting skills are improved every time they work on a project like this.”
