Minnesota IUPAT Members Endorse Emmer for Congress

Little Canada, MN- Monday afternoon the International Union of painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council 82 announced their endorsement of Congressman Tom Emmer (R- MN 06) following a Thursday afternoon union delegate vote.

“Since elected, Emmer has voted to protect Davis-Bacon and the use of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs),” said Terry Nelson, business manager of IUPAT District Council 82.

“He has been committed to learning our issues and building a relationship with our members. We look forward to continuing to work with the Congressman in the years to come.”

Congressman Emmer is running for reelection to his 2nd term representing the 6th Congressional District. In 2014, he won his election bid by nearly 20 points.

The IUPAT District Council 82 represents nearly 400 workers in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District and 3,000 throughout Minnesota. IUPAT members work in commercial and industrial painting, glazing and glasswork, drywall finishing and the sign, display and convention industries.
