Glaziers Local 252 from District Council 21 volunteered at the Veterans Multi-Service Center in Philadelphia to install three sets of doors donated by the Architectural Glass and Metal Association (AGMA). Partner contractors Synergy Glass, All Glass Systems and Advanced Glass and Metal also donated materials to the project.
Members noted they were honored to lend a helping hand to our nation’s bravest.
“It felt good to be able to give back, and help serve those who served,” said Drew Harrison of Levittown, PA.
“Once I received the call to help, [I saw it as] a call to service,” said Hayward Kittrell of Philadelphia, PA. “Helping out in our community is a plus. It gives the community a chance to see the positive things that we do!”
Cementing DC 21 as a key community partner also benefits us at the bargaining table. It builds leverage for the trades as we fight for union participation on new projects and local hire requirements.
The Multi-Service Center is a nationally-recognized nonprofit providing comprehensive services to military veterans since 1980.
Great job to all!
