IUPAT General President Jimmy Williams Jr. Thanks Former NLRB General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo for Her Service
Press Releases
Hanover, MD — International Union of Painters and Allied Trades General President Jimmy Williams Jr. released the following statement in response to yesterday’s firing of National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo:
“Jennifer Abruzzo was not only one of us, she was the best of us. A unionist to her core, she spent her entire career fighting for working people and defending and expanding union rights. She even went out swinging, telling us that there’s “no putting the genie back in the bottle,” encouraging workers to continue organizing regardless of the political conditions. Sister Abruzzo was one of the strongest advocates for workers our movement has ever seen, and she will be deeply missed. Our union and the entire labor movement is stronger because of her dedication and service.”
President Williams is not afraid to ask tough questions or to say what he truly believes, no matter who is in the White House. For interest in interviewing or booking President Williams on your program today or this week, please contact Ryan Kekeris at rkekeris@iupat.org, or Mindy Isser at misser@iupat.org.
