Shane Smith

General Vice President for Organizing

Shane Smith joined DC 88/LU 1778 (Houston) in 2003, where he spent a year as an
apprentice before joining the Marines in 2004. In 2008, he rejoined IUPAT DC 88/LU
1778 and was soon hired by DC 88 as an organizer. In 2014, he became Director of
Organizing for DC 88. In 2015, he became Western Region Organizing Coordinator for the IUPAT, and in 2021, he stepped into the role of Director of Organizing.

In August 2023, the General Executive Board appointed him General Vice President for Organizing, effective September 1, 2023.
