Sign and Display Workers Create Captivating Spaces

Sign and Display workers are tradespeople who are skilled in design, fabrication, and installation. You will be responsible for producing the eye-catching signs and visual displays that are seen in storefronts, trade shows, airports, stadiums, and public spaces. As a sign and display worker, you’ll be trained to turn concepts into compelling visual signs and tools that inform, advertise, and inspire.

As a sign and display worker, you’ll be able to design, fabricate, and install a wide range of signs — from window lettering and vehicle wraps to three-dimensional signs, LED and neon signs, and printed banners. These signs will help businesses promote their brand, generate foot traffic, and enhance the visual appeal of spaces of all kinds. With additional training in layout, color theory, digital printing, screen printing and much more, you will master both creative and technical skills.

You will get an understanding of the other side of sign-making with material selection, assembly, safe installation procedures.You’ll also learn how to work with materials like plastic, metal, vinyl, wood, and much more. Safety training is a key part of the apprenticeship program, preparing you to work at any height, with power tools, and in busy commercial environments.

Sign and Display Worker Apprenticeship

Learn to design, fabricate and install top-notch signage without comprehensive training. Master materials, techniques, and skills to excel in the industry.


Hybrid Learning Approach

Hybrid Learning Apprenticeship: Classroom and on-the-job learning.  Minimum 144 hours of classroom and mandated on-the-job hours per year.

Classroom Learning

Curriculum: Union introduction, finishing trades, health & safety, leadership, and professional development. Minimum 144 hrs classroom instruction.

On-the-Job Learning

Apprentice Curriculum: Union introduction, finishing trades, safety, leadership/professional development.

Assessment: hands-on/written tests, job performance.

Web-based Learning

Access all training material instantly through the secure web-based Learning Management System (LMS). Administer, document, track, and report on training programs, events, e-learning, and content.


Timeline

While a typical apprenticeship lasts up to four years, enough experience in your craft can make this process much shorter.
